ERGOESPIROMETRY

It is very similar to the performance of a conventional exercise stress test. The difference is that in addition to the parameters analyzed in the classic stress test, the patient undergoes baseline and exercise spirometry, analyzing the behavior of exhaled gases.

In this way, we can obtain a series of parameters or variables to assess the cardiovascular, pulmonary, and metabolic systems. With this diagnostic technique, we can thoroughly evaluate the condition of patients suffering from dyspnea (shortness of breath or fatigue), allowing the distinction between a respiratory or a cardiac baseline cause.

This test allows evaluating patients with heart failure, in cardiac rehabilitation programs, or the study of pulmonary hypertension. It is also crucial in the comprehensive assessment of the athlete to provide customized training.
