ERGOMETRIC STRESS TEST

It is one of the basic tests in cardiology. It can be performed on a treadmill or bicycle.

It has numerous indications ranging from the study of patients with suspected ischemic heart disease (exertional angina), the assessment of functional capacity (before sports practice or work review), or the assessment of arrhythmias.

Before performing the test, it is essential to take a brief medical assessment that includes the patient's pathologies and the medication they are taking, as there are drugs such as beta-blockers (bisoprolol, carvedilol or similar) that may affect the result.
